| BIGAIR360X's Full Review: Creative Labs Sound Blaster PCI |
Sound Blaster 16 was probably the greatest breakthrough in the sound card world. This is so even though they were first created a number of years ago. I still run an ISA (OLD) Soundblaster 16 card in my PIII computer system. I'm sure you're wondering why.
The reason why is, if you compare the sound blaster 16 to any other card, you really can't tell the sound difference. Sound Blaster is the least expensive card (best bang for your buck, unless you want to go all out with an awesome 3d theatre system!) that I can find so I use it the most often in the systems that I build. The card can benefit people with a tight budget greatly. The only time that you notice a (considerable) difference is when you go to a 3d 4 or more speaker system with a sound blaster live (or compatible)3d sound card. Give it a try. You cant tell the difference. All that a compedators comparable expensive card is good for is bragging rights. Another great benefit to this card is the support. Windows comes with the drivers built in making the card very easy to install. No searching the net for drivers with this card!
*note there is a considerable difference when you compare the sound blaster to a card capable of surround sound 4 speaker play. The review applies to the comparison of the sound blaster 16 and other similar cards.
