You wrote in your opinion: "slight but definitely noticeable concave pincushioning at the top of the screen which could not under any circumstances be eliminated with the onscreen controls" I have a new 19-inch Samsung Syncmaster monitor and I have noticed the same thing on mine. There is no adjustment for this on the controls menu. My concave is not that bad. One can only notice if got really close up to the screen. I wonder if this is normal with the bigger Samsungs. I haven't noticed this with Viewsonics and Sonys.
I am thinking to change mine with a perfect flat Viewsonic. I was amazed at the image of that however it is almost twice the price of my Samsung. For the money, it is a very nice display!
