I figured that I had better write this article with Works if it is to be posted. This is my second version of Works (2000). My first version of Works is from the early nineties and fortunately the interface is almost identical. The reason that I bought Works a second time is that it is very inexpensive and it functions exactly as I need it to. I just wanted an n updated version.

Word Processor

My typing accuracy is quite poor so I am glad that the spell checking is automatic. I have to admit that I only use the word processor once or twice a month so I don’t have an overly qualified opinion of it. I do know, however, that I have had far less trouble using this program than Word. I’m not knocking Microsoft Word; I’m just not a secretary and don’t need huge menus with too much to find. I have had some good grammar lessons from this program as well.

Spreadsheet

The spreadsheet had always served me well. As I was studying physics and mathematics in school I had a frequent need to store formulas. The spreadsheet is by no means capable of telling you how for a star is away based on the colour and amount of light coming from the star. It was nice to have many frequently used formulas available to me with enough complexity to add “if” and trigonometric functions. It now just takes care of some of my smaller ledger needs for my business.

Database

The database included in Works is my favorite part of the software. After a few tries it is very simple to set up information databases to your suit your needs. I have set it u p to track employee hours as well as my own time investments on projects. I have set up financial calculators, movie collections and tax payment guides.

How Much More Do You Want For Sixty Bucks

I’ve read a few complaints about Works. I think that most of those complaints are valid. If you want to spend almost ten times as much money for a different suite with more functionality, the choice is yours. If you buy Works and find that it does not have what you need, you’re only out sixty dollars. If you buy Office and find that it is far more than what you need, you have just spent four hundred.
