I've been using Wordperfect 8 for Linux for almost 8 months now. I've tried it on almost every Linux distribution out there including Caldera, Redhat, Slackware, and it works perfectly on every one. Installation is a cinch.
1. tar -zxvf it
2. ./RUNME (not too sure about this one though).
3. A Graphical installation pops up...
and you are on your way to Word Processor heaven.
You can download it from

It'll work for 90 days, so I recommend you go to
http://venus.corel.com/nasapps/wp8linuxreg/register.html
and get yourself a license key. I'll save you a lot of headache.
I don't see why someone wouldn't want to download this excellent program. The feature I liked best is the floating cursor, which lets you click on any part of the document and start typing from there. It sure saves you the trouble of pressing all thore Returns, Spaces, and Tabs.
I haven't yet used the boxed version of Wordperfect, but I'm sure it's well worth the money
