| PenGator98's Full Review: Hewlett Packard HP PhotoSmart Ink-jet Printer |
The HP PhotoSmart Printer is a great printer for the money. We just purchased our first digital camera and were looking for a suitable printer for home use. We could not pass on the price and print quality of the PhotoSmart system. It is really easy to set up......connect the included printer cable to the printer and computer, then plug it in. The 2 ink cartridges are easy to install.....just flip open the upper front lid and pop them in. Loading paper is a breeze also with the pull out tray. We printed out some wallet size photos first to try it out. We used the included HP PhotoSmart software to edit and print the pics. We were very impressed with the speed and quality of the prints (printed on HP Glossy Photo paper). The software even runs a clock on the display telling you how much drying time is left for the prints. One thing to pay attention to.....when you select the paper on the print setup, if you select HP Glossy paper, make sure you are using HP Glossy paper. The HP line of photo papers tend to be a little thicker than some other brands. This is important because too much ink on a thinner paper will cause the printed page to wrinkle and smear as it comes out of the printer.
