ABS Computers - Tech Support

I had begun work for a company about a year ago. I was very please with how well all their computers ran. So, I looked up the company 'ABS Computers'. Wow, what cheap prices I thought to myself.

I decided to purchase my own custom built machine through them about 2 months ago. Yes, it took a much longer time then expected to receive my computer. When I got it, everything seemed ok. So I thought! I began to have problems. It stated with my DVD-ROM. Whenever I played a DVD; my whole system would freeze or crash. So, I called tech support (thick accents hard to understand) The guy there looked up my computer. He told me the reason why my DVD player would crash is because the software that (they) installed on my computer was not compatible with the video card (they installed). Well thank you very much! It’s nice to know that their techs know how to build quality systems where the hardware and drivers aren't compatible. This made me very angry.

So on goes my story...the guy told me that he would send me a 'new' driver that would be more compatible with my video card. So, for one more week I waited. Finally a CD came in the mail in a blank jewel case. I put the CD in my computer and begin to install my new software. Then I get a prompt...'please enter the Serial Number that came with this software' Funny, there was no serial number with the software. The jewel case was blank and the CD had some number on it, but it was not a serial number. So, I call ABS again to complain to them that I got a piece of software with no serial number. The guy seemed very confused and not very knowledgeable. He fumbled on the phone for a few minutes, then put me on hold. He comes back on the line a few more minutes later and says 'I'm still searching for one to give you, I will call you back in 20 minutes 'Well, I waited 20 minutes, then an hour, no call. To sum this story up - TO THIS DAY THEY HAVE NOT CALLED ME BACK AND IT HAS BEEN A MONTH!!! I was able to get a serial number for another source, but that isn't the point. I was never contacted by tech support!

This wasn't the only problem I had either. I still have problems with my computer
- rebooting itself for no reason at random times
- for some reason my system also decides to check all its drives at any given time, which slows up my computer and causes my empty 3.5 inch drive to begin its prehistoric grinding noises.
-Almost every application that I have used has performed an 'Illegal Operation' at one time or another, and closed down.

My computer is not even 2 months old. It's a very fast machine and very problematic. I am so disappointed in ABS Computers. I was going to recommend them so some of my friends, but I've changed my mind.

Also, to those of you also buying monitors from them, look out. At the same time, 3 of the monitors we bought from ABS at my company completely stopped working and we had to ship them back. We waited a month and a half for them to send us new ones. All 3 were completely different models than the originals we sent back to be repaired.
There is something not right about this company. Any future shoppers should be aware!
