For some reason, my employer decided to buy 4 of these. I found out about them and "borrowed" one of them to test for Mac compatibility (drivers are available from the original developer, Vista Imaging, at <http://www.vistaimaging.com/>). Installed the software, and after a restart, I was up and running. The Mac software installer itself is only 200k; it installs about 5 extensions and 1 application that weighs in at a whooping 24k!!!
So, we played with the camera for a few days, and then I decided to do a webcam on my website. I forgot to have the software turn itself off, so when I checked the site at 10:45 pm last night, I was looking at an image that was less than 5 minutes old. The problem? It looked like someone had forgotten to turn out the lights! I asked around the office this morning, and it turns out that the lights WERE OFF!!! The image that I had seen was a result of the camera's low-light sensitivity features! It was like looking at the cam during the day!
I could very easily have just hooked this up in my 2 yr old daughters room to keep an eye on her at night, or used it to set up a home security system! I'm amazed at the quality of this camera, especially considering it's relativley low cost.
Easy to use, easy to set up, and easy to marvel at. A must buy!
