I have been using PC's since the very first Apple II. Today's machine is a tremendous improvement.

Tax software has also grown dramatically. It started out as a way to help organize tax records. Today it is so slick and easy to use even for the biggest dummy on your block.

I used Turbo Tax for a while but moved and stayed with Kiplinger's TaxCut for the past five years. TaxCut's methods of preparation is easy to understand and allows you to be walked through tough portions of the return, or you can just fill in the blanks on the easy parts.

My return is complicated by many different schedules and forms because of my tax status. TaxCut handles it easily. Old methods took me a full week to prepare the return. Now I can do it in less than half the time, with confidence that all the calculations are correct, and most details have been reviewed.
