I got my Inspiron 7000 in April 1999 for about 3300$ I got it loaded with DVD, a reasonable 6.0 GB and 126 RAM also a 300MHZ Pentium II. I love it it has a great 15" screen and the DVD performance is superb.... I really use it as a mobile desktop, while a lot of people complain about the touch-pad mouse , I love it because it is simple and very useful. I also don't care that it weighs about 9lbs, I really can't feel it unless I am walking a long distance in a big airport so I just shift it to my back or to the other shoulder. I use it to net-conference with my girlfriend from out of town, the USB port is a blessing for fast up and down-loads. I am really happy with it the only thing I regret is that if I had waited a couple of months the Faster Pentium III would have been available, but I guess you can't get everything in this world......... good luck. By the way the customer service and technical support are the best you'd except to have..
