REVISED-Ads filled email. Check out other better sites

Written: Aug 02 '00 (Updated Nov 02 '00)
Pros:a trivia question that's informative
Cons:Too much ads, hard to read, takes forever to get paid

If you've read bubba_gump's opinion in which she did a cut and paste of a sample resource-a-day email, you will see how much ads are in the email. For the lack of information that you get (the trivia of the day, joke of the day, quote of the day, internet resource of the day), you get lots of ads and links to ads. Also, because it's text-based, it's quite hard to get through all the junk and get to something you are interested in.

Yes, they say they'll pay you $10 for signing up. What they don't say is that they won't pay you until you reach $50. Unlike other email paying programs, they don't pay you for each email you get. Instead, you get paid for each referral, up to four levels. First level pays $0.40, second $0.20, third $0.05, and fourth $0.03. So, in order to get a cheque, you'll need to refer a lot of people and hope that they don't unsubscribe within a month because they won't give you the credit if your referrals opt out within a month (stipulated on their web site).

So, in my opinion, this email is not really worth it, unless you get a lot of referrals who can stand a lot of ads in a text-based email.

A lot of get paid for email programs or get paid for whatever programs have set a minimum limit amount that they will allow you to request for money to be sent out. Most places stipulate $30 or so. You just have to figure out how long it will take for you to get paid and whether or not it's worth your while. Most programs pay 2 to 5 cents per email and if you're not waiting for it to pay for your groceries, then that's fine. Another consideration is that these companies require revenue to keep them afloat so if they don't get the advertising dollars, they'll go under and all that time you spent on it will not amount to anything.

In short, I still think that the best bet for getting free money, etc. is through the big names like Mypoints, cybergold, all advantage. You know that they've paid money and they're big enough to get the advertising dollars. Don't bother with this program. If you want the trivia question, you can get a slimmer version (although still text-based) via mailbits.com

But if you're into getting free things for nothing, I would recommend joining Mypoints because they send emails and you get 10 points per email and if you join or buy stuff from their sponsors, you'll get more points. I've gotten several gift certificates from them towards Roots merchandise already. There's also Registeronce which sends you money to sign up for newsletters, credit cards, and other services. And they do pay. I've gotten a few cheques from them already! And lastly, if you're into getting a free fleece vest, I would recommend going to Asimba.com. They're a health, and exercise site. For every 10 people who sign up with your referral, you'll get a free fleece vest! Absolutely free and there's no limit to how many fleece you can get! You don't even have to pay for shipping or anything! I've already got a free vest so far!
