Less is more...

Pros:Light weight, synchronization ease, price
Cons:On the fly data entry a bit cumbersome

I recently purchased the Rex Pro 5, and I think it's a great buy for several reasons:

1) It's tiny. I used to have a Palm, but I found it too bulky. This device weighs almost nothing.

2) It has all the functionality I need. When I really thought about how I was using my Palm, it boiled down to a few things: calendar, to do's, and contact list. The Rex Pro handles all of these functions beautifully.

3) It's easy to use. If you're a road warrior like I am, you don't want to have to carry a separate docking station everywhere just so you can sync your data. With the Rex Pro, just slip it into your laptop's empty card slot and you're done. Some people gripe about its lack of a "Graffiti" type of interface. Again, that was often a source of frustration for me with the Palm, so I don't really miss it. When I need to take quick notes, I jot them on paper and enter them later into the Rex if needed. I recommend you try the Rex in person to make sure you're comfortable with its data entry system.

A tip:

1) I believe that Franklin stopped making the Rex Pro and sold this business to Xircom. My wife purchased the Xircom Rex 5000, and it's identical to my Rex Pro. They've added one very simple, but much needed feature: a clear plastic protective case. The Rex is very thin and could easily be crushed if mishandled. So, if you have the Franklin version, just contact Xircom and they will send you the plastic cover for free (at least they did for me).
