I have used a wide variety of motherboards that are out there, and this motherboard is one of my favorites. I purchased the Trinity 400 because I have had good success with Tyan motherboards in the past. Socket 370 and slot 1 forms on one board coupled with the 133 mhz bus makes this wonderful for future expandability. The auto-detect CPU voltage and cpu form type along with the ease of bus and frequency multiplier speed selection makes this board easy to install and configure while not compromising configuration possibilities. I have been running two of these boards in my systems for the past five months and have received no problems from them yet. Another aspect that I enjoy about this motherboard is when something does go wrong, Tyan is one of the few motherboard manufacturers that I know of that has a tech support line. The cost of this product would make it a good choice for someone seeking the solid performance, expandability and flexibility of a high-end system for just a mid-range price.
The only drawback that I noticed was the use of only one ISA slot on the motherboard. While this is fine for the people who have all their expansion cards in the PCI format. Those who have modems, sound cards and IO controllers that are ISA will either have to upgrade to PCI, or consider another board.
