| Absolut's Full Review: Hi-Val 4X4X24 EIDE CD-RW |
I was so happy when I got my Re-Writeable drive for Christmas, I wanted to install it right away. So I got cracking on it. It installed in a flash which was amazing because I had never heard of the company Hi-Val before. The drive ran just perfect for about 2 months or so. I had stockpiled on my CDs because I am very big into burning CDs. And when the drive all of a sudden didnt want to read my discs anymore. It would only read certain discs now. And since I had already stockpiled I had no way to take them back. THats when I started digging for the Service Plan a purchased through the retail store. The people I talked to had no idea why it was doing it and even told me to go out and BUY a lens cleaner. That idea didnt fly with me.
Finally I just gave up and took it back to the store where I got it from. I was so happy when they told me they didn't sell Hi-Val burners anymore, because I meant I had my choice on burners. I finally bought a Hewlett Packard 8220i 4x4x24. I've had it for about 3 months now and I havent had 1 problem with it.
