One day I decided I wanted to buy a dvd rom for my gateway computer. I asked my brother if he could help me find a cheap good dvd for me, so he started looking. He found that Gateway made two dvd roms: Sony 6x and HiVal 10x. The two were both $199 but my decision was bad. I decided I wanted to get the faster of the two, so I picked the HiVal 10x.

When we recieved the dvd, it was the start of a long day. We opened the box and found all of the components and directions, so we started to install it. My brother started reading the directions and it was like they were in another language. We now had to install this thing with our own two heads. After a long day of installing the dvd rom, we then tried installing the program.

After that was finished, we stuck in a dvd and the picture was so bad I wanted to punch the screen. There were squiggly lines and the picture was terrible. We didn't know what to do. We looked in the instructions for trouble-shooting but didn't find the answer. I went on the internet but didn't find the answer there either. I finally decided to call HiVal tech support. There was no answer. I must of tried for a week but no one ever answered. The answer machine said to leave a message, so I did but no one ever called me back.

Now I bought a dvd for the tv and have a $199 dollar dvd rom that doesn't work in my computer. I am telling you that this dvdrom is a waste of money and a waste of time. Its better off not getting a dvdrom then getting this thing.
