This sound card can only be summed up in one word: amazing.
I have the the TurtleBeach Montego II Plus sound card installed, and I couldn't have a better experience with it if I tried. "The Montego II Plus uses PCI audio technology to mix up to 96 DirectSound audio streams simultaneously, freeing your CPU for such tasks as 3D graphics and full motion video." Well I don't know much about all that, but I do know that the games themselves ran faster, because the CPU didn't have to worry about the sound.
Not only is the quality of the sound itself perfect, but I saw a noticeable improvement in the 3d graphics, because this card lets my GeForce run faster. I noticed this especially with the game "Half Life: CounterStrike." I can hear the sound bouncing off the walls of my room! It's amazing! If an opponent tries to sneak up on you, the sound card makes it sound very real!.
This sound card, in conjunction with some great speakers, will make you feel like you are in the game! I don't know what I was doing without this card and my speakers. The price, listed at 150 dollars, was a little steep for me at first, but once I bought this card it was all worthwhile.
Unfortunately for you all, Turtle Beach has pulled this card from the market for unknown reasons, so I really don't know what to tell you :( If you find this card used or something, consider yourself lucky, as you just got one of the best sound cards on the market.
