I've had the scanner for just over 6 months as of writing this, and it's given me hundreds of excellent scans during that time.
Build quality is good and, when you get used to the slightly awkward software interface, good quality scans are easy to obtain. Installation was very easy, both for the software and hardware, and I was up and scanning within 30 minutes of unpacking it. The slide holder could be better designed, but it does work OK. Scans from slides tend to be a bit dark, but you can easily make software adjustments to compensate for this. Negatives are very easy to get good scans from, thanks to a built-in library of film types. Scanning speed is fast compared to a lot of other filmscanners, and the scans are very sharp.
Value for money is the big bonus, and I'd say that scan quality from the ScanWit is the equal of big-name scanners at almost twice the price. You even get a SCSI card, and Photoshop 5 LE in with the price.
I've done a much more thorough review, together with some sample scans, on my homepage if you're interested:

On the whole I'd thoroughly recommend this scanner.
But who picked the name "ScanWit" ?
