IF you were to download a current version of CuteFTP, and compare it to an older version, you'd be shocked by how much it has changed.
The last "real" release of CuteFTP, in my mind, is version 2.8... This version was feature complete, with the extras and goodies that you want (File Queueing, ability to modify file permissions on the server, etc.).
They continued to go on, adding no real features, and making it harder to use. They made the dialogs such that it wasn't intuitive anymore, nor was it easy to get around for power users who use the keyboard extensively. They made the icons big and colorful and cute and annoying.
They also managed to bloat the memory footprint of the program, such that if you try to run 5 clients at once, your computer bogs down to near un-usability.
However, all these things are thigns that annoy power users. If you're not a power user, you probably can't go wrong with it. More likely than not, you won't need any of the advnaced features of an ftp client, so it won't annoy you that they're not easily accessible.
All in all, a decent client. I have some wishes about it, but it's still pretty good.
