If you spend your sunday mornings browsing through the pages of the book of sunday ads then this site was meant for you. The people at dealnews are great. They list the discounts that they find on online stores and even regular stores. I think the best part of this website is that they have more than just computer related products. There is a section that is for consumer products as well. They will indicate when there is a sale for eddie bauer or gap as well as those great prices on motherboards or the latest dvds.
The deals that dealnews posts are also checked by the people at dealnews. A lot of other web sites that post deals don't take the time out to try their tips, and sometimes end up false. Dealnews makes this their whole business it is always updated when a sale is taken down or if they posted the wrong information once they hear about it.
Once they posted an error in amazon's page that resulted in the insider dvd to be a penny. It ended up being the best seller for that day, and by ten in the morning central time the price was restored to its correct price.
If you want really good deals that sometimes are limited by time (ie the mess up at amazon) then check the site early in the morning. But you also should check it at the end of the day because the site is constantly updated throughout the day. Of course the best way to get to know this site is to just go to it yourself. If you are really into discount sites like this also check out techdeals.net, slickdeals.net, bigbigsavings.com, and I'm sure that there's a billion more out there. all the sites that I listed don't require you to register (which I always think of as a plus).
One last thing, this site is made for pc buyer, if you are a mac user there's dealmac.com. Also a good site. Also there's a posting area that allows people to write a simply question or comment. Since this site is viewed by a lot of techie people if you have a computer related question or if you don't trust some of the deals (ie cyberrebates) then you can ask and most of the time these questions are answered quite fast. I think this is a great tool as well and also to read general comments.
