Ever traveled by air and tried to get some things done really quickly? Or sitting in a conference and want to note some things you are just listening to right into your favorite application instead of doing it again after the show?
Or what about having all your data accessible at a flash while talking to a customer?
Now, this review is not about a piece of technology or a company that's promoting their products well enough (in fact TOSHIBA could do better in this).
This is about comparing your personal success in utilizing your data in the most crucial moments between any older type of laptop and this slim model.
Not enough room between seat rows in a plane: no problem anymore, gosh this thing is so slim!
Uneasy handling at a customer discussion: you can open and navigate the laptop almost blind, so easy!
Traveling with your little kids overseas and have your laptop with you: why don't you show them "Bugs Life" on DVD? Wonderful quality!!! Headphones use excellent.
Customer does not have a large screen projector for presenting your recently created PowerPoint show? No problem! Docking station comes with the solution! You simply plug in any TV into the docking station and show your shows anywhere!!! Very powerful solution for sales reps.
Robustness: our IM department dropped it 10 feet, washed it, dived it in oil(!!!) and freezed it below -40C +++ it still worked! Nothing broke!
Weight: so light that you want to have everything from TOSHIBA that you might have to carry around!
Functionality: Surprisingly huge keyboard with nice, big and easy going buttons +++ screen resolution excellent in different light sources +++ PCMCIA slots easy accessible +++ battery change very quickly +++ battery life 2 hours fine but even better with the available 5 hours battery which is a little bit heavy but nice to work 5 hours a piece +++ open close is very easy and you can decide whether it sleeps while closed or not +++ beaming information between same type of laptop and/or Palm Pilot works good +++ no built-in CD drive though (big minus if you need it, especially because there's no external CD drive) +++ docking: very light, slim too, available with CD or CD/DVD drive, networking circuits, PCMCIA, nice sound etc.
Our company purchased with 7GB harddisk and 196MB RAM - all very helpful and makes it even more powerful.
