What to watch out for!

Sep 19 '00

After reading all other people's opinions, let me tell you what are thing you shouldn't buy. Laptop is a convinient thing, you can take it everywhere and with today's technology, they are making it lighter, smaller, prettier, and more powerful than ever. However, the price has also increased more than it has ever been. When you buy, what should you be aware of? A laptop is nice and small and easy to carry. However, draw back is that it is much more fragile than the desktop. If you slipped it by accident and fall from only 2 feet above ground, there's a big chance something may be damaged. However, no one wants a laptop that weights 2 ton and is bigger than a television. So, aside from personal mistakes like dropping the laptop, let's talk about the companies who make them. My personal advice is to buy from the companies that use universal components. Compaq is one of the worst to buy from since they make everything by themselves. I helped many of my friends fix computers and I have the worst experiences with compaq, regardless of laptop or desktop, their computer components simply don't match with any other company on the market. Second, buy a laptop that's useful. Many people buy laptops that are smaller than the size of your palm, however, they find great difficulties trying to type with the keyboard. A laptop is supposed to be a convenient tool, don't make your life harder by buying something that's pretty but not useful. Third, buy something that is powerful enough. Sony has a few great looking palm tools that don't use the full version of windows. They are designed for quick note taking and data storing. From my experience, some people buy those products believing they have what they want. However, many of them ending up not using these tools at all cause they find them not useful. Make sure you ask about what is included and make sure you buy what you need. These are the three simplest things to look after when you are going out there to buy. Have it in mind and it should be helpful when you are deciding.
