| chugs's Full Review: Dell Dimension XPS B 733r |
This machine was bought for me by my company. We looked at many different machines but the Dell outlet gave you the most bang for the buck. The machine has 256MB of Rambus Ram which I do not believe makes a difference at all. It has a 40GB hard drive which is pretty quick and 32MB of video ram which is pretty fast. It also has a CD/RW and a DVD drive. The dvd is used to play the audio which Dell does not tell you when you receive the machine so you end up spending about an hour on the phone trying to find out what is wrong with the sound.
The Rambus RAM has been swapped out once already and it took hours for dell to admit that they did not know what was wrong so it must be the RAM. The on-site service is a must and they come to you and do all the work. Make sure to buy the monitor and/or printers at the time of original purchase as they do not charge for shipping for additional boxes at least when I bought this machine.
I would recommend Dell but be prepared for long delays on the tech support line and once you have them, be prepared to be scripted until they give up.
