Pros: Brags: up to 8 hard drives, stable, ata100, pc133/vc133 ram, 5 USB ports included(7max on board), easy to overclock, nice bios, built in hardware temp monitor, very well documented
Cons: Don't like: there's a resistor right next to the cpu that makes putting a fan on very difficult.

| gldnsprl's Full Review: Asus A7V |
With an extra $300 to spend and extra parts laying around I wanted to build a system I could kill without much worry, In this case I wanted to exploit the ease of duron overclocking with a consistant board. In this case the Asus A7V was perfect.
I had read a small novel's worth of reviews on the stability of the Asus A7V, the prices seemed low enough that the risk of overclocking gave me enough courage to use a No. 2 HB pencil to unlock the processor, and surprisingly enough the manual itself was detailed wonderfully. Unlocked and set correctly the 700mhz duron on an A7V fired up stable at 950mhz.
I recommend anyone who needs value but can't sacrifice speed try this combo. The duron 700 is approximately $79 currently and the A7V board has varied prices but on average you can take it home for around $140-160.
In addition to the board, if you are overclocking I recommend the Golden Orb II fan the equivalent($20), and at lease one case fan.
Asus has done a fine job on this board and maintained quality. Unlike the K7M, Asus is proud of this board and shows signs of offering great support for a quality board that will support AMD's inexpensive and quality products.
Right on and kudo's to both of you.
