I purchased the Samsung 900SL from Best Buy for ~$330. I have been pleased with the performance of the 900SL.

In particular, its short length (hence SL) is a really good feature. A 19" monitor tends to be very large and most peopel don't consider that it won't necessarily fit well on their desk. The short length tube of the 900SL is really good in this respect.

The Samsung itself offers a relatively clear picture with a lot of controls to make that picture optimal. Its screen is relatively flat. In general I've found that monitors with total flat screens have problems with centering and geometry. The Samsung doesn't have these problems.

For the price, the Samsung was a great monitor. And in general, it seems that you can't go wrong with most of Samsung's 19" monitors.

When I was shopping, I noticed the 955SL as well. Though I assume this monitor was meant to replace the 900SL, it didn't appear on looking at the technical specifications that the 955SL had as good of a dot pitch as the 900SL. Other than that though, the monitors seemed practically identical.

In summary, I would recommend the 900SL to anyone looking for an affordable 19" monitor.
