I am a digital videographer who builds my own systems. My father asked me to build him one but after comparing the price to a Dell model I told him to buy the dell. It was only about 20% more expensive. However, all it's components are tested to work very well together. It always rates highest in performance and most of all they have a great service team. All of my experience with them has been very professional and helpful. Anyway, my dad bought it and when I first started loading applications it opened up like a V-8 and amazed the heck out of me. I had been building PII 350 towers with 1 17.2G system drive and 2 17.2G storage drives arrayed in a RAID Stripe. This means that each drive only writes half of the information thus doubling the speed and making one 34.4G super fast drive. I would get transfer rates of 26Mbps. Well I took a testing utility to see how fast this Dell was and it scored 21Mbps!!!!! I couldn't Believe it! I only needed 15Mbps to capture my video. Lets just say this system is very fast. I have not had one hardware problem for 2 years. I have added a CD-RW and have never had a burn error or a buffer underun. It has a 27.2G 7200rpm hard drive and only now that 20Gigs are full is the computer starting to slow. I feel that this is more a software(windows!) problem. I would reformat but it still works fine. Occationally it makes a buzzing noise when writing to the drive but it is rare. I have had Gateway, Micron, and Dell computers. I rate Dell first, Gateway second, and Micron never.
