Do I get a PC or a MAC
Jan 10 '00
There are so many different opinions on this subject that it can become quite blinding!
I have been an IT Technician for 5 years now and prior to this an avid PC User. I have however used and worked on both systems.
I think the question you need to ask yourself is not which is the better system but more so what do I intend on doing with the machine? Both systems are good for different tasks.
If you are a Gamer or expect to move files around a fare bit or wish to have a machine that whilst being a little more complicated than a MAC offers a greater chance to develop your technical knowledge, then I would recommend a PC.
If however you are more into desktop Publishing or using high definition graphics and want a simple reliable system then the MAC is for you.
Both system's can handle files and Graphics well but the architecture of the different systems and their past histories shows a definite clear cut path.
PC's can now handle graphics alot better than they used to and MAC's are getting quicker with handling large files.
Before you get swayed in either direction, ask yourself a few simple questions.
1/ What is going to be the main function of this system?
2/ How much can I afford to spend on this?
3/ Do I want to learn more techi stuff or do I want simplicity?
4/ What do I think I will be using my machine for in the future?
Both systems are reliable, tried and tested and have an equal amount of supporters and critics.
It really depends on what you want to do and where you want to go...
