Of course the specifications are incredible. Asus has a short but very respectable history of manufacturing video cards. The quality of graphics and 3D rendering is perfect, compared to other cards. Of course this is the most important reason for buying a graphics card.

In spite of it's quality there are a few drawbacks, maybe general drawbacks for this heavy type of video cards. The card heats up rapidly after booting the computer. I have a normal PII 350Mhz machine with a tower case. Normal ventilation is not sufficient. After a few minutes my computer hangs. This means I need to install an extra fan(s). No warning is given on the box or in the installation manual regarding this issue. Asus supplies a piece of software with the video card that monitors the temperature of the chip and slows down the operation speed of the chipset to prevent the system from hanging. Too bad this doesn't work on my computer.

I have the deluxe version that comes with a stereo effects goggle for extra 3D effects. I must say, this is more marketing than fun because there is not much to see except a flickering screen.

Conclusion is: Very good graphics performance but you really need a perfectly cooled machine. Besides that, the deluxe version that comes with 3D effect goggles and video in/out is not worth the extra price.
