This is one of the most handy chat programs out there on the net.
I'm using it for about one and a half year now and I always have it on.
It has a diverse set of options which describe your current status, like available, away, do not disturb and so one.
A big problem with chat programs usually is the security. But ICQ has found a good solution to this. You can just add people you want to and for people who are constantly bugging you there is an ignore list so you don't receive any messages from them anymore.

There are a few problems though. Sometimes the icq-server is down, so you can't connect, this happens once in a while.
Another problem is that sending files sometimes doesn't work.
You must have a pretty good connection speed if you want it too work perfectly all the time.

But for the rest this is a very useful program to chat with your friends.
