I want to start by saying that I had a ATI Rage Pro 128 until I found out how bad it sucked. Some games ran great, but others were a little slow, and a little jerky sometimes, but the picture quality was pretty good. Unfortunately the picture quality was more of a 2D look than 3D. Needless to say I went out and bought the 3Dfx Voodoo3 16MB and the thing just smokes, everything is lightning fast, graphics are excellent, I have only noticed a few flaws but they are very minor, and my friends have seen little differences that they say are better than their Nvidia 32MB/AGP cards. Now ATI makes good cards, just not good enough if you are a serious gamer like me. I mean the movie sequences in Final Fantasy VII were very slow unless I had the 3D acceleration turned off, which it would then run fine. Take my advice, if you are going to be playing games, don't buy an ATI unless it is a 32 meg card. Go with the Voodoo cards or the Nvidia, Soundblaster makes a really good video card now too. Also, I believe that the ATI card that I had was a 8 meg card, which would explain the slowness, since it uses your cpu memory rather than its own built in RAM.
