| WoodenNickel's Full Review: Palm IIIe Personal Organizer |
The Palm IIIe, just in case you do not know, is one of the many palm computers out there. With
this device, you are able to upload files onto your Palm, have Internet capabilities, and plan and
organize your day. There are many features that go along with the Palm IIIe, and all of these
features help to create one of the neatest things I have ever owned!
The Basics
Well, I will start off with the basics. When you start off first opening your Palm, it takes you
through a quick set up to welcome you and teach about the things. After that, it gives you a few
programs to get you started. These programs include a memo pad for your palm, a date book, a
calculator, an address dictionary, and a check list. It also includes a HotSync button which I will
talk about later. All of these things are very easy to use and are great to plan your day. These
programs are great if you need help with your organizational skills. Just a side note...you get a
total of 1920k memory on your Palm IIIe.
Graffiti
Graffiti is the language you use to type with on your Palm IIIe as with any other Palm. Stickers
and cards both come with your Palm IIIe to help you learn them. You can stick them on your
visor, the flap that covers/protects the Palm IIIe, and you could maybe stick your reference cards
in your purse or wallet. You have two sections at the bottom of your palm to type two things:
numbers & letters. The language is easy to type and use, and on some applications there is a
virtual keyboard where you don’t have to use graffiti. You can even buy a keyboard to go with
your Palm IIIe, as I did.
HotSync
This is probably the best feature that comes on your Palm IIIe as well as any other Palm device.
This application gives you the ability to plug your computer and Palm IIIe together and exchange
files. You can upload games (keep in mind that these things you upload have to be for the Palm
device only, not regular computer applications), different organizers, hacks, utilities, and tons of
other things that make your Palm fancier. It is a little complicated for a beginner to hook up the
Palm with the computer, but not too hard. Hey, if I figured it out, anyone can!
Stylus
Your stylus is the plastic pencil that comes with your Palm IIIe as well with all other Palm devices
that you write with. Its basic, just a pen looking type thing but solid plastic. It is small and lost
easily but you are able to buy different kinds of styluses for your Palm IIIe so you can keep up
with them better.
Websites I Recommend For Different Applications
Below are just a few web sites that I found very resourceful in finding things for my Palm IIIe:

Overall
My overll rating of the Palm IIIe has to be five stars! This is one of the main reasons I have not
written an Epinion in a while. I have spent tons of hours on my Palm IIIe and enjoyed every
minute of it! I will rate it with five, totally earned and totally deserved stars!
To the people who usually read and rate my opinions: I am sorry I have not written a review in a while. As I said in my review, I have spent a lot of time playing with my new "toy" and plus I have run out of things to write on! I'll try to speed up my work again.
