Pros: Great tech support, great prices, great selection on models, great production process. Satisfaction.
Cons: Dell should work on getting more indepth with their computer sales (i.e., allowing users to choose motherboards and hardware specific issues). Also, needs to work on getting the wait time lower for phone sales.

| Nishant's Full Review: Dell Dimension XPS T700r |
Dell corp. By far the best manufactured computer corporation on earth. The thing that makes Dell so great is that you can make your purchase as good as you want it. I recently purchased another Dell desktop, along with my other Dimension XPS r400 computer, and portable Inspiron 7000. It's a new PIII 750 Mhz Dimension XPS T series computer.
Great thing about this computer is that I got what I wanted to get. Surely, you can go out and purchase all of your hardware and put the a computer together yourself. However, not everyone is good with computers. That's why Dell is here, not to help those less computer literate, but those who want a powerful machine at a great price.
This Dimension XPS T series is great. All of the Dell Dimension desktops are great (and don't forget the client servers and portables!). Speed, good hardware, and affordability are some key points to keep in mind when you are purchasing a desktop. I got exactly what I wanted and nothing I don't need (because I'll never use it and it's a waste of money) And if you have problems, and you're not quite sure what to do, you can always call Dell's 24 hour tech support.
Here's a little bit about my machine. It runs great and I don't have any problems with it. I could bore you or excite with the hardware that I have in this machine, but you should definitely go to Dell's website and take the ride on Dell machine. I'll tell you what though, I love my 19 inch Trinitron monitor, 128 MB SDRAM, 13.6 GB hard drive, 32 MB video card, 48X CD-ROM drive, and a great 3 yr warranty and 1 yr on-site warranty (which can be upgraded).
Here are a few pointers when making a purchase. If you are a person who knows what they want and knows how to choose the different hardware specs, then you should definitely purchase online. There is nothing like ease and convenience when buying something. When you purchase online, you confirm what you have ordered, plus you get an email that serves as a `second' confirmation. Once you have confirmed your order, you will get an email (or have Dell call you) providing you with your final purchase price. Then, you can happily track your purchase online and watch as it goes through the production process, the Dell way.
For those who are not so computer sure about themselves, they can always call Dell's sales department and purchase the machine with a sales representative. There is a drawback however. I am not sure if this describes most of the sales representatives, but I know it describes the ones that I have dealt with. I've gotten Dell representatives who don't know a darn thing about the computer they are selling, but only that they work in that department and that they can read the information provided on their computer screen. A drawback for those who purchase online is that you do not have an actual person to help with your purchase as you would if you were ordering over the phone. However, in all cases, the Dell computer configuration system will warn you if there is a compatibility issue with the hardware that you have selected.
Over all, my Dell experience has been a good one. I'm sure for many others it has too, but there are minor instances in which something goes awry. It's happened to me, and I'm sure to many, many others. With so many users, there is a wide arena for problems to occur. In one of my Dell machines, the motherboard got shot, and it was only a couple of months old. I called Dell tech support, they found the problem, sent out a tech, and it was up and running again. For the problems Dell has, there is always a way to get answers. Their great online (forum) help is magic, and their phone support is great. Dell techs and users answer your question online at the Dell Webtalk Forum. It is a great tool for when you have problems.
I hope that this will aid you in purchasing your next desktop computer.
