Super Fast or Super Annoying?
Written: Apr 22 '00
Pros:Fast Data Transfer
Cons:Super Disks Rarely Work
I've had my super disk drive for about a year now, it's actually an internal super disk drive but there isn't a category for internal super disk drives yet. I honestly have had it with this thing, it worked just fine for about nine months, but now it's practically never reading the super disks. I've tried everything too, I've bought more super disks, I've cleaned the drive with a diskette cleaner, but nothing even helps. Don't misunderstand me though, the drive still reads normal diskettes. Plus it can transfer data with the normal diskettes a lot faster than a normal diskette drive can transfer the data for the diskettes. The thing is, I bought the drive mainly for the large storage capacity, not for the increase in data transfer speed. I have noticed that when the super disk drive first gets the disk put in it, it makes a certain noise for the normal disks and a different one for the super disks when it works right. But now my drive won't ever make the right noise no matter how many times I insert the super disk.
Obviously, my opinion is that the Super Disk Drive is more of a hassle than it's worth, unless you only plan on having it for about nine months.
