Good Value Computer

I purchased a Toshiba Satellite 2595 CDS before beginning my Masters Degree, since I was going to study abroad and needed a computer for homeworks and my tesis.

It's the first laptop I've ever bought, and my experience so far (over a year) has been pretty good. What fist surprised me, was the fact that I could plug my computer into European outlets, despite the fact of the different voltage (many of you might have already known this, but I'm new to laptops, and it really was a pleasant surprise).

Also, the price was a pretty good value at the time (1,500 USD for a 400 MHz 64MB 4.3 GB laptop), and it has proven a real bargain for the performance I've gotten from the laptop. For me, performance is that I'm able to run at a decent speed all the programs I require for my studies, such as Word, Excel and a couple of specialized financial programs. They have ran quite well, even now that I have less than 200 MB of free disk space, and open more than 5 of them at the same time.

It's also pretty light for those of you who travel a lot. I don't know the exact weight, but I've had to carry it around quite a bit, and it didn't bother me at all (and believe me, I'm quite small). And another miscelaneous fact, is that x-ray machines didn't seem to harm this machine, and believe me, mine went trough a lot of those (including european, american and mexican ones).

Overall, I can say this has a pretty good computer, and would recommend it to new laptop user, such as myself, that don't know a lot about technical issues and want a reliable computer that will always work well for them.
