Pros:Lightweight, durable, and does the job
Cons:Papers will fall out from time to time; No single paper clip should be used multiple times
There comes a time in every inventors life when he puts down the goofy refrigerator alarms and talking pants, and decides to invent something useful. I don't know who invented the paper clip, nor do I care. I'd assume it was created by some sort of super race, talking robot monkeys perhaps, but that's irrelevant. What is important is that paper clips are just plain useful.
The model I decided to use was the standard 3 inch silver clip (personally, I find that people that use the colored ones are usually a bit "fruity") and after manipulating it for quite some time, with the help of an eraser or two, I made a stick figure. Then the the Staples guy kicked made me buy them all and kicked me out of the store.
I got home and I realized that these paper clips are actually used to hold paper together. I really wish someone would've told me. The least they could've done was give it a name that suggested what it would do. That was my main gripe about these gadgets.
Aside from how confusing they were, paper clips did the job fairly well, although they wouldn't hold much more than 10 papers (loose leaf, standard size) before the papers started to slip out. No problem though, this wasn't supposed to be some miracle invention, it does it's job, and that's all that counts. They are extremely lightweight and can be easily stored.
Paper clips handle quite well. I clipped papers from the top, bottom, and both sides and I can honestly say that all went on smooth without much resistance (expect some resistance when pile exceeds 7 papers) so I was pleased with that.
Overall, I'd say paper clips will do the job. If you've got the cash, hold out for a stapler, which does the job of a paper clip...but umm, it staples instead.
