I will be the first one to admit that I was a huge skeptic when it came to using a program like this to do my taxes. It is just not something I wanted to mess around with.
For the past two years I have used it only after doing our taxes the "old fashion" way, sitting at the table with pencil, calculator, receipts, and papers everywhere. No organization whatsoever but I knew it was done right.
Each time I have used Turbo Tax I ended up with the EXACT amount I had figured on paper and in a lot less time. It asks easy questions that mostly require yes or no answers other that the basic W-2 information which is also asked in an easy to understand manner.
Anyone can use this program with ease even if you do not normally do your own taxes. It is a breeze and you can even file online. We had our return directly deposited in less than 2 weeks this year and the whole process was stress free.
I recommend this to everyone. It even picked up that my husbands employer was taking out too much Social Security, something that was never detected when we went to H&R block or did them ourselves manually.
Turbo Tax is the only way to go.
