I had a XL2. It had to be serviced three times within 6 months after I purchased it(see my other review under XL2), and Winbook sent me an Si for replacement.
I have to say Si2 is a much much better notebook. First, it is just much more sturdier. The case is stronger, the hinge uses metal inside so it won't break (the plastic one broke on my old XL2).
The HPA LCD screen is much brighter than the XL2. Installing RAM is easier. You remove on screw and that's it. However, unlike XL2, the HD is not user upgradable (more on this later).
It uses a true Mobile Celeron, with the SSE extension. The notebook runs very cool. The bottom gets a little warm after a while, but still comfortable on the lap. The wrist rest doesn't gets warm at all. That is a much needed improvment over XL2.
It wakes up from sleep properly without any problems. My old XL2 rarely wakes up right and require a cold reboot. The Si has never needed a cold reboot yet, four months already passed since I got it.
The hard drive is not user upgradable, according to Winbook. However, I have figured out how to do it and it is not that complicated....five screws only.
The only other complaint I have is the location of the sound ports...They are in front facing the user, an awkward location, I believe.
And although the sturdiness is much improved comparing to previous Winbook models, it is not as sturdy as the latest Dell my roommate has.
