| endurance's Full Review: EPoX EP-MVP3G-M |
My last motherboard was a EPoX as well, it only supported up to a 200mhz Cyrix processor. It is still running great today but I have its new baby brother. I bought the computer from my mom after she had bought the system it had the G-M model in it!
This motherboard is awesome! Great features, good setup for expansion! Both in the realm of USB, and PCI slots. The AGP slot was indeed something new to me. I have a Blade 3d card in my system and the speed is mighty different compared to my old PCI type video cards.
The board supports features like CPU Temp, Fan speend, etc. Those as well were new to me! Previously my way of detecting if the CPU was overheating was windows would 1. Begin to mess up. 2. Computer would re-boot. Now I get a irritating little beep! Or as I have set it up to, if it gets tooo hot, it simply shuts down!
Mac Users would love this mother board for their system. It has one keep start up! I have used mac's before and it was one feature I liked, you hold a key.. the computer boots. Well with this board you can accomplish that same feat now on a PC.
All in all its a nice system! Handles a AMD K6-2 500 very well! Just be sure to get all the patches from EPoX and Microsoft. There are a few out there which make your machine a tad more stable!
