I first downloaded ICQ when one of my best friends at home was using it because he didn't have AOL instant messenger and I'll admit that I was very impressed when I first started using it. Sure it was a little more difficult to use than AOL, but I liked the fact that you could send files to friends and receive files from them.

Then they upgraded to a more advanced system. I had already gotten over the initial excitement of ICQ and was tending to use my AOL instant messenger more because of its more appealing use. I still downloaded the upgrade to see what they had to offer. I was not only disappointed but annoyed. All they offered was moving flower petals on their logo and annoying noises for every letter that typed.

Now the new instant messenger allows you to send files, and I have completely erased ICQ off of my computer because it was just not designed the right way.
