AOL Internet Mail has been a nice feature for those with AOL accounts. Previously, if you were using a computer without AOL, there was no way to check your mail; now, it only takes a few clicks to check.
AOL Internet Mail is not a full-service email program. It only provides the email basics that are necessary (read mail, reply, compose new mail, etc.) So if you're looking for a full-time internet email program, I would advise signing up with Hotmail or some similar service.
If you are an AOL user however, you will be pleasantly surprised. All one needs to do is to point a browser to www.AOL.com Then, typing in your normal username and password will call up your internet email.
The service is relatively quick and it is certainly easy. My only complaint is that after typing in one's username and password, there is an intermediary page which only requires you click on a button. This slows the process unnecessarily; I can't imagine any reason for requiring it.
Overall, AOL Internet Mail is a nice addition to an AOL users features. It's not enough to make one want to sign up for the regular service, but it will make your life easier if you already subscribe.
