Gateway Service

Gateway Service contract.
Why I purchased a Gateway. At the time after considerable research I selected Gateway over Dell merely based upon cost. I added an extended service contract which was explained to me by the salesperson, just to be safe.
Murphy's law began with the delivery when the UPS driver said he would be seeing a lot of me. Little did I know how right he was to be, but I had the extended Service contract where they would come into the home and fix it.Sure as God made little apples the problems began almost immediately.
As instructed I dutifully called Gateway and spent considerable time trying to correct the problem. After the third failure I asked when the technician would come to fix the thing properly. I was told that this was their option not mine. I had never heard this part of the agreement before and I immediately cancelled an expensive addition over which I had no control. I eventually got the thing up and running through an independent contractor.
In all fairness to Gateway their response program has improved ( Under Warranty). They do ship replacement immediately and do respond over the telephone fairly quick and their return policy on parts is excellent.
