HP's, Can a computer get any better?

Excuse me can you please tell me about that computer there....
I was in the market for a new computer. I have learned from past experiences to not get a COMPAQ . I won’t even write about it because everything I have to say about Compaq's is negative. I wasn't going to build a new computer, so the first thing I did is went to best buy, because I thought I would get a Best Buy there. When at Best Buy I saw they only had Compaq’s (ewww), IBM’s and Hewlett Packard’s. I of course stayed away from the Compaq’s and asked two employees what they liked better, HP’s or IMB’s. I was told by both of them to get an Hewlett Packard, so that's what I did I got the 800mhz 9694C Computer. I also bought a M70 computer monitor, bringing the total cost to about $2600 with tax.
That's a lot of money, is it worth it?
You may tell me that I bought a very expensive computer, and you would be right. But I will not go down without a fight. First off I have to say this computer is GREAT! I will list you some of the specs it has:
128mb of ram
800mhz Athlon Processor
A dvd drive, and a cd-rewritable drive
Microsoft Works 2000 (and a lot of other software)
A Ethernet card, and a DSL modem (although most dsl providers wont let you use this modem)
And much much much more!
How it went down...
I bought the computer an immediately went home and set it up. I was happy, I got a new computer. Upon loading the computer up, It froze at the blue Hewlett Packard screen. I didn't know what was wrong, and I was mad. Why did they give me a broken computer? Actually, of course they didn't, it was my fault, I also bought a new mouse and had it plugged in, and since the drivers weren't installed it wouldn't load up. After finding that out, the computer loaded up fine. So I registered it and installed my programs. This computer runs smooth .
I only have one complaint, on starting up this computer a lot of program run on startup, and it eats away at a lot of your system resources. This is easily fixable. So I installed all my stuff. I ran unreal tournament to see the graphics and they were great.
Is that all?
Well, you may think that's all but it isn't. After buying this computer I had a problem with my cd-r drive. It wasn't working right. I had to call technical support, which was LONG DISTANCE . Luckily I got someone on the phone quickly and I found out it was my fault, the cd I was trying to copy couldn't be copied. Fixed, and I haven't had one problem since. Another thing I found very annoying is that after I bought this computer they came out with a 1ghz computer. That made the price of my computer drop $300. I called up Best Buy, and they told me I could get that 300$ back, and they sent me a check in the mail. So I'm using this computer right now and having no problems.
If you’re in the market for a new computer, I suggest you get a hp, if not this model another. I knew HP printers were good, but now I also know HP computers are GREAT.
