| gregbaker's Full Review: Asus CUSL2 |
I wanted a solid, fast system. Having been happy with other ASUS boards I've owned, the obvious choice seemed to be ASUS's new i815E based motherboard, the CUSL2. I have not been disappointed. With a PIII-800 and plenty of RAM, the system is wonderfully fast.
I have been using the on-board video. For built-in video, I'm quite pleased. I assumed I'd end up buying an add-in video card, but the on board video drives my 19" monitor quite nicely. It even has reasonable 3D acceleration.
I'm not a big 3D gamer, though. If I was, I'd want more 3D power. Luckily the CUSL2 has a 4X AGP slot for just such a person.
My system is fairly stripped down--I'm not making big use of the expansion capabilities, but it's nice to know there are a bunch of USB ports and PCI slots there if I need them. This motherboard definitely leaves you with room to grow.
