I currently reside in the US, but when I was living in Australia I used one of these babies, and I honestly love them.
Hayes make great modems and this one is no exception. You can get the drivers for Windows 95 almost anywhere, and the drivers are included with Windows 98.
It worked great with Linux too. Possibly this had something to do with the fact that Hayes make pretty much standard equipment, and their stuff is supported anywhere.
Also, a common factor which not too many people look into when purchasing a modem (I didn't with my latest modem and paid the price). There is a certain exploit with modems where you can send an ICMP echo request with the modem hangup command embedded into it (+++ATH), and some modems hang up. This modem is not succeptible to these kind of attacks (to my horror, my brand new 56k modem is. You really get what you pay for.).
They definitely don't over heat and drop out, or suffer any such symptoms. I once had one of these online for 11 days non stop (for that I also have to applaud my ISP and phone company too though ;).
Overall, I love these modems. You probably can't buy better than Hayes. They may not be the cheapest modem you can buy, but they're worth every penny.
