IBM, Second Time Around...
Dec 13 '99
This is my second IBM Aptiva, and I recommend them to everyone of my friends who asks me what I use. The first one was a 486 Enhanced which, though terribly outdated and needing major upgrades, still runs and works perfectly, though certain applications lag it. I'd had that one for four years, when it finally became too much of a hassle to browse the web on it. So then, it was time to go computer searching.
I'd heard a lot about Gateways, and Dell computers so I looked at them, but the packages they had I didn't like. So, I went to the newspaper ads, looking for IBM packages. I found several, all of which had reliable scanners, and printers in with the package. The one I was most interested in was an IBM 333Mhz AMD K-6... I fell in love with it right there. It also included a scanner, printer, and monitor with it for a little over $1,000. It was a really popular model, and it was backordered for weeks. It took harassing and getting firm with Best Buy to finally get one. It was all worth it though, and the computer has been a very reliable one. Now, it's about a year old, and needing some upgrades in the memory dept. but that's OK... Easy enough to work with.
I also ended up helping my grandmother buy an Aptiva, though a faster processor then mine. That makes three for me... Still use and love them all.
