I've used several recordable and re-writable drives over the past few years and Sony's offerings are first rate. I've bought several of these drives in recent months and they've quickly become our corporate standard.

The drive is fast, the software is first rate and it simply works! No digging out the manual to discover what to do or how to do a multi-session disk. The software (CD-Right) does it all!

With the new Sony backup software, you can make a backup of anything. It took three disks to backup my laptop's hard drive but it was worth the effort. There's nothing like a good CD re-writable drive when it comes to restoring files from CD versus tape. The speed is phenomenal!

I highly recommend that if you're looking for a good, solid performer for a CD re-writable drive, you can't go wrong with Sony's 4x/2x/24x.
