I've been using ICQ for about 3 years now. And I love it! Since I am a college student, I meet many people. ANd ICQ is a great way to keep in touch with everyone that I know.
--For those of you who don't know what ICQ is, it is a chat program that let's you talk to people all over the world. It is probably the most used chat medium used throughout the world. And best of all, it is free.
--What I like about ICQ is that there is an away and N/A mode, thus you can leave messages to your friends, even when they are not on their computer. Also, the is the invisible feature that lets you seem offline to anyone you choose (especially useful for annoying people =) ).
--So what makes this better than AOL or AOL IM? FIrst of all, i have alot of international friends, and most of them do not have AOL, and they use ICQ as a chat medium. Secondly, AOL limits your buddy list to 110 buddies (100 buddies for AOL IM). ICQ lets you have at least more than 120.. I don't know exactly how many.. Also, you are able to change their "screen name" into their name, making it easy to tell who the person is.
--I believe that ICQ is the best chat medium out there now, for people who have friends all over the world. If it wasn't for ICQ, I would've lost touch with many of my friends from all over the country. So, if you want an easy way to keep in touch with friends, try ICQ, it's free and easy!
