Hello my name is Brett and I own the 3DFX voodoo 3 2000 pci card. I bought this card back in early 1999 when I started to get into gaming. During that time AGP slots for video cards were just starting to become popular but I decided to still go with the PCI. I originally paid $120 with a $30 rebate from CompUSA. When I first got it I was amazed by its power. I have never seen graphics run so smoothly, especially a quake 2 and kingpin.
Now a days I wouldn't consider buying a pci video card but rather take advantage of the agp slot for gaming. But I will tell you one thing, until I do get a new video card, this one still holds its own when going against the big boys of 32meg and 64meg cards. Quake III runs perfect with no frame skipping or stalling at all in game play, even when playing multiplayer games.
My advice to everyone is to maybe go with this older card but get the agp version instead. You can pick one up for around $50-$70 dollars. Check www.pricewatch.com for the best prices. Although its old it can handle today’s games without breaking a sweat.
