Having friends and family members living in far off places can be costly in your long distance bills. That is why I believe ICQ is so great. And best of all it is free! All you have to do is download it from the ICQ website. Not only is ICQ for online chatting, you can also send files and e-cards through it.

Some might not think it is secure but you do not have to put your personal information on it. There is also feature on it where you let people on your contact list only if you authorize them. It is not difficult to use ICQ at all. My parents live in another country and we chat all every single night ICQ. If your ICQ is not on, you can easily leave messages and the person will receive the messages as soon as they turn on their ICQ.

If you ask me, ICQ is better than having an e-mail. ICQ has almost the exact features as e-mail, except you can send and receive you messages almost immediately.
