Gran Turismo 2 is by far the best racing game EVER! With over 500 cars and 40 tracks to choose from, you will be glued in front of the TV for hours living out all your car fantasies. Whether its racing an old Pontiac muscle car through the beautiful streets of Seattle or pushing a Dodge Viper to its limit on the streets of Rome, you will be engulfed in racing bliss. If there was ever a heaven for a racing enthusiast, this game would be the only dog in town!
Building upon the amazing graphics engine from the original GT, GT2 pushes the limits of the Playstation's memory even further. Though there are some pop-up graphics at times, the surreal beauty of the citiscapes will soon make you forget about this minor downfall.
I love the designers' idea to incorporate old muscle cars like the Pontiac Super Bird (my personal favorite) into the game. After all, not all of us are impressed by tiny Asian cars that sound like wind-up toys. I prefer the uninhibited roar of a Pontiac V8 myself. Involving cars such as the new Ford Focus as well as the New Beetle was a cute idea, although the cars have nowhere near the horsepower to compete in most of the beginner races.
Overall, this game is as close to perfect as you can get. And frankly, its taking over my life!! =)
