Okay...I am NOT a Grandparent, but I am the Mom of three of the "grand kids".
My Dad and his wife live in Colorado and I live in Virginia. They recently visited and to keep in touch they bought us the Logitech Quick Cam. I installed this myself and it was so easy. My camera can be connected to either the USB port or the printer port. It can run with Windows 95 (which is what I have) or Windows 98. My Dad also got a camera for himself- but not as good as mine.
After our cameras were both setup, we both got a "Passport" by signing up for a free "Hotmail" account and we logged onto our "Passport" and chose to go and talk on "Netmeeting 3.01". My kids loved to talk for the first time! My 1 year old was sticking out her tongue like her Grandpa was and giving the screen kisses! My 2 year old was trying to protect my 1 year old from Grandpa who was getting noses!
This Logitech camera has great color and seems to work well even with movement. It looks like an "eyeball" and has a base that can be moved into postion. The front has a circle that can be turned for better focus! I know that between my Dad and I, I have the better camera.....My Dad says he is getting the Logitech Quickcam soon!
