I bought my IBM thinkpad from Best Buy when computers were being sold for $400 less with Prodigy. Now I am stuck with both.Prodigy I have no complain about except being stuck with it for 3 years when faster access to the web is possible to cable modems or ISDN or T1 connection.
The Thinkpad comes with Hard Disk partition , C drive with 16 bit and D drive with 32 bit . The logic of which still eludes me . Anyway the only positive point I have seen in this machine is it is a looker . It's got a great body something to be seen around with but as soon as you open it to work it is slow . Application takes a long time to load and execute .
Sometimes the machine just freezes which happens quite often , and you have to boot up the machine again through scan disk. One day I just moved my laptop from a table to another and the speakers just stopped playing . After a week or so I took the laptop to Best Buy for repair and as I was demonstrating the customer service representative that no sound comes out from the speakers , they started playing. In all probabilities it had a loose connection which became okay during the drive .
If you want a fancy thing go for it but if you really want it to work don't go near it .
